Local Spots You Shouldn’t Miss | Get your much-needed pre-marathon carb load at Sünger Pizza. If you don’t want to give up the comfort of home-cooked meals during race week, head straight to Sakallı Ev Yemekleri. And to shake off the pleasant fatigue of the day and enjoy the sunset, make sure to stop by Gümüşlük.
If you’re looking for a chill break by the sea, soak up the atmosphere at Kumbahçe Surfer Caravan. For some of Bodrum’s freshest seafood, be sure to reserve a table at Gemibaşı Restaurant, one of the city’s long-standing local favorites. And make sure to set aside at least one evening for Marina Yacht Club, one of Bodrum’s iconic venues.
Step Into Bodrum’s History and Museums | Bodrum Castle, home to one of the world’s most important underwater archaeology museums, awaits you with its fascinating atmosphere. You can also visit the house where Zeki Müren, a true Bodrum enthusiast, spent his final years and follow in the footsteps of the “Sun of Art.” For a glimpse into the monumental legacy of Antiquity, visit the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus Open-Air Museum. To take a journey through Bodrum’s sponge-diving and maritime history, step inside the Bodrum Maritime Museum. For a bird’s-eye view of Bodrum and a deeper feel of its historic character, head to the Bodrum Ancient Theatre. Myndos Gate, the Gümbet and Yalıkavak Windmills, Rabbit Island in Gümüşlük and the Ottoman Shipyard are also among the historic treasures you should definitely see while you’re in Bodrum.

If you want to burn off some energy on the water, try SUP or SUP Yoga along the Ortakent coast. Enjoy pedal boats and canoeing along Gümüşlük Beach, or take your race-day rhythm onto the water with the Bodrum Rowing Club and paddle out into the blue.
